9.27.20 was out of a dream. I still can hardly believe it really happened- it was truly perfect in every way. Even before covid- we opted for an intimate destination wedding in Charleston, SC, which is our favorite city & we may or may not move down there someday- we love it that much! Our wedding was full of southern charm on a beautiful plantation with spanish moss all around. It was so dreamy & truly one of the most beautiful venues I had ever seen. I narrowed down my absolute favorite wedding photos but still ended up with a lot so I’m doing a 3 part series! Part 1 includes details, getting ready, and our first look!
My great great grandmothers pin that has been a part of all the girl’s weddings on my moms side.
Carlee (my best friend since 4th grade) was able to stand next to me on my big day and it was SO special. She is truly the most selfless, sweet & loving friend and I feel so thankful God gave me her as a best friend. Couldn’t adore her more!
I gifted Tyler a Shinola watch and these photos show how happy he was! He gifted me the primrose Anthropologie mirror as a wedding gift- sadly the 200-pound mirror could not make it down for a surprise reveal- ha! But the mirror is magical & it was the best gift ever- truly such a beautiful heirloom piece.
These cufflinks were a gift from my mom to Ty- they are vintage Tiffany & Co. cufflinks and I had them engraved for him. I just LOVE them!
I may be biased but he is the most handsome man in the world. All the heart eyes! His bow tie is by a company called Brackish . They make handcrafted bows in Charleston & Tyler’s is made of pheasant feathers. I love how unique it is to Charleston- a lot of grooms wear them down there. We found a suit that matched it perfectly- it was meant to be!
The butterflies I felt in this moment were like nothing I had ever felt before. I could not believe after 7 years of dating Tyler, today was the day I could call him my husband. Such a surreal feeling.
When I saw tears in Ty’s eyes, I instantly got teary too… the favorite moment from our whole day.
My dad was peeking through the window to watch our first look- this photo is one of my favorites! My mom, 2 aunts, Carlee and sister-in-law were watching from a window on the other side and they were all crying too.
We read our personal vows to each other during our first look which was so special to me. I loved having a moment just the two of us. On your wedding day, you don’t get too much time alone so this time was really important to us- I am so glad we decided to do this!
Stay tuned for part 2 which will be our wedding portraits & the ceremony!
