Our Wedding 9.27.20 Part 3- Dinner + Reception

Following the ceremony we had guests line the stairs for our introduction. We walked up to Forever by Chris Brown- if you’re a fan of the office you’ll get why we chose that song! (hint- Jim and Pam’s wedding (; )
We had a sweetheart table with family on both sides of us- it was so fun to be able to look around at all of our favorite people
I have to brag on our food for a second because it was AMAZING. We had honey fried chicken, pulled pork, potatoes, corn casserole, mac & cheese and bread. I wanted southern comfort food and our catering team exceeded all expectations I had. We also did a chocolate mouse dessert with fresh fruit since we aren’t big cake people and it was delicious. Everyone raved about the food & to be honest I sometimes dream about having that meal again- ha!
Since we have 10 nieces and nephews, making a fun area for them was a must! All the kids told their parents that our wedding day was their favorite day ever- so we must have done something right!
Forrest & Carlee (our best man & maid of honor) were on our very first date at the ice rink, so it was incredibly special to have them stand next to us on our wedding day.
TIP- be sure to ask your MOH, BM & dad for a copy of their speech- I printed all of their speeches out and I’ve read them a few times since this day and they make me SO happy. So special to have & remember.
Our dream getaway car! A 1961 Rolls Royce. This was one of my favorite touches to our day.
After watching bride’s do this for years- you’d think I would have been a pro at the cake cutting (at nearly every wedding brides quickly ask me what to do when they do the cake cutting) I blanked and didn’t know either! So what did I do? Accidentally drop a piece of cake on Ty’s shoe… whoops! We cut our cake to “L-O-V-E” by Nat King Cole- reminded me of my childhood watching Parent Trap which is why I chose it!
Ty and I danced to the song “Close Your Eyes” by Michael Buble. If you’ve read my blog post about how we got engaged- you’ll know how special that song is to us! Every time I hear the song it makes me tear up – so many sweet memories!
One of my favorite memories from the day is dancing with my dad. Growing up we danced in the kitchen alllll the time to music, so we decided to choose 4 songs I grew up dancing with him to (picking 1 would have been way too hard)
Our final song was Walk This Way by Aerosmith – one of our all time favorites! We had everyone come out to dance but my dad’s dance moves were unmatched.
watching our nieces and nephews dance was the cutest! They all had such a blast
Our final dance was “When you Wish Upon a Star” – A true Disney classic! We absolutely love Disney, so of course, we had to incorporate it somehow. Dancing under the twinkly lights was magical. It started to rain during our reception & I couldn’t have dreamed it up myself. It was SO much fun to dance in the rain with our absolute favorite people.
We had a reservation at Hotel Bennett that night- a luxury hotel in downtown Charleston. Staying there was a complete dream! Every time we visit Charleston we stop at Hotel Bennett because it’s that gorgeous! So we had to get a few photos inside that night which I will forever cherish.
If you have made it to the end- thanks for checking out my blog! My wedding wouldn’t have been nearly as perfect if it wasn’t for my vendor team- truly the best of the best. If you are in need of Charleston vendors be sure to check them out. They were a dream team!
